The exterior roof and waterproofing were completely replaced on a home in White Plains, Westchester County. The scope of work encompassed replacing the shingle roof, installing gutters, replacing the soffit and installing the copper chimney flashing.
The primary objective of this work was to restore the entire exterior protection system, enhance water drainage, and eliminate any existing and potential leak points around the roof and chimney areas.

The current roofing system exhibited many of the signs of aging due to exposure to the seasonal weather conditions of Westchester, such as heavy rains, snowfall and temperature fluctuations.
Part of the protective strength of the shingles was diminished and water flow efficiency was not as efficient through the gutter system. The so-off areas were also worn in need of some attention and the chimney flashing had to be properly upgraded with a new waterproofing layer to stop leakage around the brick chimney structure.
Replacing a shingle roof
Care was taken to remove all old roofing material and provide a clean installation base. Any damaged or compromised roof sheathing has been checked and repaired prior to moving on.
A new high quality roofing system made of asphalt shingles has been installed with appropriate protection of underlayment with ice and water shield as needed in vulnerable areas.

Gutter System Replacement

A new gutter system with proper slope was placed to allow for smooth drainage and to protect the edges of the roof and foundation.

Soffit Replacement Work

An important component of this project was the installation of custom copper chimney flashing. One of the most common and frequent problem areas for a roofing system, particularly as the roof ages, is the chimney.
The new copper flashing was fitted accurately to make sure that the roof and chimney were sealed tightly against water leakage.
